Elise Nieshalla’s leadership is rooted in faith, family, fiscal responsibility, and freedom. She will often share about her great, great, great grandparents who fought in answering President Lincoln’s call to secure freedom for those who didn’t have it and to preserve the Union for their posterity.

Her extensive experience in economic development and real estate investment informs her approach and the importance of connecting businesses with the facts of Indiana.
Leading the Call from States to Address the National Debt
As hard as the State of Indiana has worked to be in a strong financial position, we are vulnerable to our country’s rapidly dissolving fiscal position. As Chair of the National Debt Crisis Task Force for the State Financial Officers Foundation, Elise has built a coalition of 37 state financial officers from 27 states advocating for President Trump and Congress to restore America’s fiscal solvency.
Ending Investments in China and ESG
Serving on the Indiana Public Retirement System (INPRS) Board and as Chair of the Indiana Deferred Compensation Committee (IDCC), Elise Nieshalla has worked diligently to remove assets from funds with investments in Chinese entities or that focus on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors that prioritize left-wing political causes over financial returns.
Making Government More Efficient
Focusing on efficiency and transparency, Comptroller Nieshalla enhances operations without growing government. Her efforts include implementing advanced systems for financial reporting, accounts payable, and timekeeping, reflecting her dedication to responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars.
