Marshall County Post - Comptroller Nieshalla convenes statewide roundtable of local officials including M.C. Auditor Angie Birchmiere

Earlier this week, Indiana State Comptroller Elise Nieshalla convened county and municipal government leaders for the Comptroller’s Roundtable, an ongoing engagement that ensures our partnership in the distribution of tax revenues fully incorporates changes in law and opportunities to advance efficiencies through technology.

Marshall County Auditor Angie Birchmeier attended the Roundtable on Tuesday and said, “The round table was and has been very collaborative and informative.  I appreciate the willingness of the State Comptroller’s office to listen to our needs at a local level and help be our liaison with other State agencies.”

Drawing on her experience as a former county official, Comptroller Nieshalla is a strong proponent for the importance of state and local collaboration so that tax dollars collected by the State continue to be accurately and timely disbursed and put to work for Hoosiers.

“Hearing firsthand from those who administer public service at the local level is invaluable,” said Comptroller Nieshalla. “The feedback shared further guides our efforts to enhance and streamline tax revenue distributions, financial processes, and necessary training.”

The Roundtable is an ongoing forum of discussion with local officials covering topics that support continuous improvement in the Office’s statewide service delivery.

During the meeting, Comptroller Nieshalla welcomed attendees who included the officers of their respective state associations or individuals recommended by their association (Indiana County Auditors, Treasurers, Commissioners, Council Associations, and Accelerate Indiana Municipalities Clerk-Treasurers).
